Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00070 | $0.00673 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00035 | $0.00336 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00014 | $0.00135 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00067 |
Grade A, and why
nodel-use scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

curl http://localhost:8085/REST/nodes How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 64 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Interacting with Running Nodel Instances
Inspect and manage live Nodel hosts through their REST API.
Workflow
- Identify the correct host and port. With no configured port, Nodel reuses its cached last port or falls back to
8085. - List nodes and confirm the exact target name before using a node-scoped endpoint.
- Read console, activity, parameters, actions, and events before mutating state.
- Test the narrowest safe action or diagnostic call, then re-read logs and state.
- Use restart, rename, deletion, script, parameter, binding, or file writes only when the requested change requires them.
Quick Start
URL-encode node names in paths (My Node becomes My%20Node).
# List local nodes
curl http://localhost:8085/REST/nodes
# Read recent console entries
curl "http://localhost:8085/REST/nodes/My%20Node/console?from=0&max=50"
# Invoke a string action
curl -X POST "http://localhost:8085/REST/nodes/My%20Node/actions/Power/call" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"arg":"On"}'
Safety and Response Rules
- Inspect an action's metadata before choosing its argument shape.
- Send JSON to service endpoints, including
{}when a POST has no explicit payload. - Treat
/files/saveas the raw-file-content exception. - Use the previous ISO
startedtimestamp withhasRestartedwhen waiting for a restart. - Require
confirm=truefor node removal and confirm the target name immediately beforehand. - Add
?traceonly when diagnosing serialization, Python, or unexpected server errors; routing and not-found failures deliberately omit stack traces. - Preserve unrelated nodes, parameters, bindings, scripts, and files.
Debugging Order
- Confirm the node exists and inspect discovery when remote visibility matters.
- Read
consolefor startup or protocol errors. - Read action/event activity and current parameters.
- Inspect action and event metadata before invoking or evaluating anything.
- Use
evalfor a narrow expression andexeconly for deliberate diagnostic code. - Re-read the console after every active test.
What ships with it
5 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

nodel-use is a skill published in the GitHub repository scroix/nodel-skills (2 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 70 tokens to every session and 673 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
