visual-evidence-gateway

visual-evidence-gateway is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from scy7796/visionsieve-mcp. It costs 59 tokens per session (279 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for using a single vision-inspection tool when correctness depends on visible pixels in a local image. This includes reading image-only text, interpreting charts, or checking a user interface.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them for OCR, screenshot or UI-state checks, chart and diagram interpretation, and visual before-and-after verification.
Why use it?
They help prevent guesses based on filenames or source code when the image itself is the evidence.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.00279
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.00139
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00028

Measured 5d ago against content hash 108b543f0c67, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

visual-evidence-gateway scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Visual Evidence Gateway gate

Use vision.inspect only when the answer depends on information that cannot be reliably obtained from text, source code, logs, DOM, SVG, or structured data.

Do not infer image contents from filenames.

Required triggers:

  • the user asks about an image or screenshot;
  • visible UI state or layout is material;
  • image-only text must be read;
  • a chart or diagram itself is evidence;
  • visual before/after verification is required.

Do not trigger:

  • an image merely exists in the repository;
  • equivalent text or structured data is available;
  • the task is code-only;
  • no readable image path exists.

Use:

  • rigor=normal for ordinary inspection;
  • rigor=critical for final acceptance or material numeric conclusions;
  • rigor=cheap for bulk coarse screening.

Do not request a specific backend. Do not call the tool repeatedly with the same image and question. Do not claim visual verification if the tool returns partial or failed.

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
