frontend-design

frontend-design is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from seb1n/awesome-ai-agent-skills. It costs 40 tokens per session (2,131 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for designing and building frontend interfaces—the screens and controls users see and interact with. It covers responsive layouts, accessible components, design systems, dark mode, and HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, React, Vue, and Svelte.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create pages and components, define colors, spacing, and typography, add light and dark themes, and build responsive interfaces with accessible controls.
Why use it?
It helps keep an interface consistent across pages and usable on different devices. It also addresses accessibility, including support for people with disabilities, while producing maintainable frontend code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.02131
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.01066
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00426
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00213

Security

Grade A, and why

frontend-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Frontend Design

This skill enables the agent to design and implement frontend interfaces that are visually polished, responsive, accessible, and maintainable. The agent works with design systems — component libraries, spacing scales, color tokens, and typography scales — to produce consistent UI code. It outputs production-ready HTML, CSS (including Tailwind CSS), and framework components (React, Vue, Svelte) with WCAG-compliant accessibility and dark mode support built in.

Workflow

  1. Analyze Requirements and Constraints: Identify the target platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile), the framework in use (React, Vue, plain HTML), the styling approach (Tailwind, CSS Modules, styled-components), and any existing design tokens or brand guidelines. Determine the key pages or components needed and their priority order.

  2. Establish the Design System Foundation: Define the core tokens before writing any component code. This includes a spacing scale (4px base: 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64), a type scale (xs through 4xl with corresponding line-heights), a color palette with semantic tokens (primary, secondary, success, warning, error, neutral) in both light and dark variants, and border-radius and shadow tokens. These tokens ensure every component is visually consistent.

  3. Build Components with Variants: Implement each component with clearly defined variants (size, color, state). Use props or CSS classes to control variants rather than duplicating markup. Include all interactive states: default, hover, focus-visible, active, disabled. Ensure every interactive element has a visible focus ring for keyboard navigation.

  4. Implement Responsive Layouts: Use CSS Grid for two-dimensional page layouts and Flexbox for one-dimensional component alignment. Define breakpoints (sm: 640px, md: 768px, lg: 1024px, xl: 1280px) and design mobile-first, layering complexity at larger breakpoints. Test that no horizontal scrolling occurs and that tap targets meet the 44x44px minimum on touch devices.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
