person-lookup

person-lookup is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from SELAT-AI/selat-skills. It costs 120 tokens per session (1,832 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A people-search add-on that finds background information about a named person, such as work history, education, social profiles, or contact details. It uses a natural-language query to identify people.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to look up a person by name with details such as their employer, role, or location, and review matching career or profile information.
Why use it?
It helps distinguish the right person when a name is ambiguous and gathers scattered professional information into one search result.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: positional $N argument.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is selat skill verify ./skills/person-lookup \.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00120 $0.01832
Opus 5.5 $0.00048 $0.00733
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00366
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00183

Security

Grade A, and why

person-lookup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

person-lookup

When To Use

Use for a specific named professional at a known current company when the requester needs up to five public professional-profile candidates for manual disambiguation. The result may support current title, employer, location, and public profile links when the provider returns them.

Require both the person's full name and company. Use free discovery or ordinary web research for a generic "who is X?" question without employer context, broad people categories, company research, private contact discovery, or bulk lists.

Use only for a legitimate business purpose. Do not use the result to infer sensitive traits, identify a private individual outside a professional context, or automate outreach.

Workflow

  1. Install the vetted recipe:

    selat skill install person-lookup

  2. Collect both required inputs:

    • name: the person's full professional name;
    • company: the person's known current employer or organization.

Confirm that the request is for one professional identity and that the name and company are not placeholders, broad categories, or unrelated entities. Stop before any probe if either input is missing or incoherent. Neither param has a default, so the CLI refuses to run without both.

  3. Probe the payment challenge for free:

    SELAT_ROUTER_URL=https://router.selat.ai \
      selat skill verify ~/.config/selat/skills/person-lookup \
      --name "<full-name>" \
      --company "<current-company>" \
      --live-probe

  4. Tell the user the live quote and the per-step cap, explain that this is one paid call returning at most five candidates, disclose that a paid application error may still charge, and wait for explicit approval.

  5. Only after approval and a spendable Gateway balance, arm a session budget no higher than the approved cap, execute once, and disarm the budget after success or failure:

    selat budget start --amount <approved-cap>
    selat skill run person-lookup \
      --name "<full-name>" \
      --company "<current-company>"
    selat budget stop

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
