_fallback

_fallback is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from serejaris/kimi-skills. It costs 74 tokens per session (1,916 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A general workflow for creative writing that handles genres without a dedicated process, such as speeches, wedding vows, eulogies, advertising copy, and journal entries.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to develop and refine genre-neutral creative text when the request does not fit fiction, drama, essays, or another named writing format.
Why use it?
It gives less typical writing projects a structured process for research, drafting, review, and delivery.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is python skills/general-writing/scripts/check_wordcount.py <file> --min {target} --lang auto.

Good fit Use it to develop and refine genre-neutral creative text when the request does not fit fiction, drama, essays, or another named writing format.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00074 $0.01916
Opus 5 $0.00037 $0.00958
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00383
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00192

Security

Grade A, and why

_fallback scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 155 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Fallback Creative Writing

Sub-skill of general-writing. Inherits shared creative writing principles, anti-AI discipline, and quality gate framework.

CRITICAL — Review → Fix Brief → Dispatched Subagent: When a review finds issues, translate them into a detailed fix brief (file paths, quoted findings, expected outcome, scope boundary, self-check) and dispatch a fresh writer subagent to apply the fix. Never use inline sed/edit_file fixes.

CRITICAL — Anti-Read-Loop Rule: The orchestrator must dispatch its first subagent (genre_researcher or writer) within 10 iterations. If the orchestrator has spent 10+ iterations only reading files without creating any subagent, it is in a read-loop. Stop reading, proceed with your best understanding of the genre, and dispatch immediately.

CRITICAL — .docx Delivery: Every completed work must be converted to .docx using skills/docx/SKILL.md. Never end a session with raw .md files and no .docx deliverable.

When This Activates

This fallback handles requests that are clearly creative writing but match no named sub-skill. Examples: eulogy, speech, toast, wedding vows, advertising copy, manifesto, journal entry, travel writing, food writing, sermon, commencement address, brand storytelling, product description, satire, parody, memoir excerpt, prayer, epitaph, artist statement, grant proposal narrative, political speech, and any other unlisted creative form.

Stage 0: Genre Discovery (Orchestrator)

The Orchestrator must name and understand the genre before proceeding.

0.1 Name the Genre

Classify into: oratory/ceremony (speech, toast, eulogy, sermon, vows, keynote), personal/reflective (journal, memoir, confession, prayer, artist statement), persuasive/advocacy (manifesto, polemic, political speech, grant narrative), commercial/brand (ad copy, product description, brand story, tagline), journalistic/documentary (profile, travel/food/nature writing, feature), critical/analytical (review, critique, commentary), short-form/digital (listicle, explainer, how-to, thread), ritual/ceremonial (blessing, epitaph, inscription, invocation), or hybrid/experimental.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
