A guide for creating Excalidraw whiteboards in Orca Note. Excalidraw is a tool for drawing diagrams, shapes, arrows, and labels.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create diagrams, flowcharts, annotated layouts, and other whiteboards in Orca Note.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork involved in producing valid, structured whiteboard data that Orca Note can display.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.03571
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.01785
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00714
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00357

Security

Grade A, and why

orcanote-whiteboard scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Orca Note Whiteboard (Excalidraw)

This skill provides the syntax, structural rules, and design principles for creating semantically rich and visually appealing whiteboards in Orca Note using the Excalidraw JSON format.

Excalidraw JSON Schema

Whiteboards are defined within whiteboard code blocks.

Core Structure

{
  "elements": [],
  "files": {}
}

Common Element Types

Type Description Key Fields
rectangle Standard rectangle x, y, width, height, strokeColor, backgroundColor, roundness, boundElements
ellipse Circle or oval x, y, width, height, strokeColor, backgroundColor, boundElements
arrow Line or connector points (relative to x,y), startArrowhead, endArrowhead, startBinding, endBinding, elbowed (true for elbow arrows)
line Simple line points
text Text label text, fontSize, fontFamily (5: Hand-drawn, 6: Sans, 8: Monospace), containerId (ID of the shape this text belongs to), x, y, width, height, strokeColor, backgroundColor, textAlign, verticalAlign
embeddable Embedded Orca Note block customData: { "blockId": "ID" }, x, y, width, height, strokeColor, backgroundColor, roundness

Labeling Shapes with Text

To place text inside a shape (like a rectangle or ellipse):

  1. Create the Shape: Give it a unique id.
  2. Create a Text Element:
    • Set its containerId to the shape's id.
    • Set x and y to the container's x and y.
    • Set width and height to fit within the shape's dimensions.
    • Set textAlign and verticalAlign to center the text.
  3. Link back: Add the text element's ID to the shape's boundElements array: { "type": "text", "id": "text_id" }.

Arrow Types

  • Straight Arrow: Standard line. No elbowed field.
  • Elbow Arrow: Set elbowed: true. This creates a right-angled connector.
Arrowheads (startArrowhead / endArrowhead)
  • null: No arrowhead.
  • "arrow", "bar", "dot", "triangle".

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
