Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00029 | $0.00836 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00015 | $0.00418 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00006 | $0.00167 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00003 | $0.00084 |
Grade A, and why
setup-kindle scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 108 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Kindle Weekly Letter — Setup Guide
Walk the user through the complete setup process.
Step 1: Prerequisites Check
Run:
cd !`git rev-parse --show-toplevel` && python3 --version && (test -d .venv && echo "venv exists" || echo "no venv")
If no venv, create one and install:
uv venv && source .venv/bin/activate && uv pip install -e .
Step 2: Email Configuration
Ask the user which email provider they use. Support:
| Provider | SMTP Host | Port |
|---|---|---|
| Gmail | smtp.gmail.com | 465 |
| Yahoo | smtp.mail.yahoo.com | 465 |
| Outlook/Hotmail | smtp-mail.outlook.com | 587 |
| iCloud | smtp.mail.me.com | 587 |
Guide them to generate an App Password (not their regular password):
- Gmail: Google Account → Security → 2-Step Verification → App Passwords
- Yahoo: Account Security → Generate app password
- Outlook: Microsoft Account → Security → App Passwords
- iCloud: appleid.apple.com → Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords
Step 3: Kindle Email
Ask the user for their Kindle email address.
How to find it:
- Go to Amazon → Manage Your Content and Devices
- Click Preferences tab
- Scroll to Personal Document Settings
- Find "Send-to-Kindle E-Mail" — it looks like
[email protected]
Step 4: Approve Sender
IMPORTANT: Tell the user they must add their sender email to Kindle's approved list:
- On the same Personal Document Settings page
- Scroll to Approved Personal Document E-mail List
- Click Add a new approved e-mail address
- Add the email address from Step 2
Step 5: Write .env
Create .env file with the collected info:
[email protected]
EMAIL_APP_PASSWORD=xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
[email protected]
SMTP_HOST=smtp.provider.com
SMTP_PORT=465
Step 6: Test Email
Send a test EPUB:
source .venv/bin/activate && python3 -m src.epub_builder --input output/sample_content.json --output output/test.epub && python3 -m src.email_sender --epub output/test.epub
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

setup-kindle is a skill published in the GitHub repository ShawnBaek/kindle-weekly-letter (2 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 29 tokens to every session and 836 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
