Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00061 | $0.00972 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00030 | $0.00486 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00012 | $0.00194 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00006 | $0.00097 |
Grade B, and why
screenmcp scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation
A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.
`sudo apt install wmctrl xdotool`. Wayland is best-effort. How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 87 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
ScreenMCP — Local Desktop Control
This plugin bundles a standalone stdio MCP server (screenmcp-local) that controls
the computer Claude Code is running on — Windows, macOS, or Linux. No worker,
relay, account, or network. Use it whenever the task means looking at or operating
the real desktop GUI.
Setup (automatic)
The server's Python dependencies install themselves on first launch via
bootstrap.py (mss, pynput, Pillow, pyperclip, and pygetwindow on
Windows). You don't normally do anything.
If the mcp__screenmcp-local__* tools aren't available, the server failed to
start — usually no Python on PATH, or a sandboxed install. Check its stderr, or
install the deps manually:
pip install mss pynput Pillow pyperclip pygetwindow
Optional extras (only if the user needs them):
pip install opencv-python # camera / list_cameras
pip install simpleaudio # play_audio
Core loop: look, then act
screenshotto see the screen before acting. Re-screenshot after actions that change the UI.- Act with
click,double_click,right_click,drag,scroll,type,press_key,hotkey(e.g.[ctrl, c]). - Verify by screenshotting again.
When unsure where a click will land, use screenshot with the dots argument
to paint estimated click positions and confirm before committing.
Coordinate space (important)
Screenshots default to 1456×819. All click/drag/scroll/move coordinates are in
that same space and auto-scale to the real screen — so read positions off the
screenshot you just took and pass them straight through. Override per call with
max_width/max_height (0 = native pixels).
Model-aware sizing
Coordinate-bearing tools accept an optional model arg: claude | gemini |
chatgpt. With no explicit max_width/max_height, it sizes the screenshot and
the click space to that model's vision limits so the image and the clicks share one
space. Since you are Claude, pass model: "claude" for best alignment. Explicit
max_width/max_height always wins.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

screenmcp is a skill published in the GitHub repository shimondoodkin/screenmcp-claude-plugin (0 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 61 tokens to every session and 972 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
