content-opportunities

content-opportunities is a skill for Claude Code from shutovdef-dotcom/google-search-console-mcp. It costs 33 tokens per session (394 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An SEO analysis workflow that finds search queries and pages ranking just outside the first results page but receiving many views and few clicks.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for finding content updates, reviewing search positions, and producing a prioritized table with recommendations for titles and meta descriptions.
Why use it?
It narrows a large set of search data to pages where improving the title or description may increase clicks. It also ranks the findings by estimated opportunity.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00394
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00197
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00079
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00039

Measured 10d ago against content hash f419d316d0ee, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

content-opportunities scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Content Opportunities

Surface quick-win content optimization targets: pages or queries sitting in positions 11–20 with high impression volume but low CTR.

Steps

  1. Call list_properties to confirm the exact site_url.
  2. Call get_advanced_search_analytics with:
    • dimensions=query,page
    • row_limit=500 or the highest supported row limit
    • start_date = 28 days ago, end_date = today
  3. Treat the returned rows as a top-row sample from Search Analytics, not a complete export. Do not assume the API sorted by impressions.
  4. Filter the retrieved rows client-side to keep only rows where:
    • position is between 11 and 20 (page 2, just below the fold)
    • impressions > 100 (meaningful search volume)
    • ctr < 0.03 (3% — below average for these positions)
  5. Sort the filtered set client-side by impressions descending.
  6. Return the top 20 rows.

Output format

Present as a table: Query | Page | Position | Impressions | CTR | Opportunity Score

Opportunity Score = impressions × (0.05 − ctr) — a rough estimate of clicks gained if CTR reaches 5%.

Follow the table with specific recommendations for each entry:

  • Title/meta description optimization ideas
  • Whether to merge with a better-ranking page
  • Whether to add internal links to boost the page

Note: Google Search Analytics returns top rows for the requested dimensions. This workflow is an adjacent approximation for content ideas, not a guaranteed exhaustive list of every high-impression, low-CTR opportunity.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
