autonomous-agent-patterns

autonomous-agent-patterns is a skill for Claude Code from sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills. It costs 46 tokens per session (293 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A collection of design patterns for autonomous coding agents: software that plans work, uses tools, observes results, and repeats the cycle. It also covers permission checks, approval steps, browser automation, and human review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building an agent loop, tool or function calls, approval workflows, browser actions, or human-in-the-loop processes.
Why use it?
Agents that can change files or call services need clear boundaries and a way for people to approve risky actions. These patterns provide a structure for making that work predictable and safer.

About the project

AAS Core is a local control plane for coding agents that lets them search a large catalogue of skills, choose a stack, validate it, and create a reproducible plan. It is used to assemble and review agent workflows through its CLI, local MCP server, catalogue, plugins, and Workbench. The catalogue add-ons provide the skills, plugins, bundles, and workflows that AAS Core helps agents select and validate.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.00293
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00147
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00059
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

autonomous-agent-patterns scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

🕹️ Autonomous Agent Patterns

Design patterns for building autonomous coding agents, inspired by Cline and OpenAI Codex.

Detailed Guide

Read the detailed guide before executing this skill. It retains the complete procedure and reference material. Treat its safety, prerequisites, and validation requirements as mandatory. For focused work, load the relevant sections; for end-to-end work, read the guide completely.

When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when:

  • Building autonomous AI agents
  • Designing tool/function calling APIs
  • Implementing permission and approval systems
  • Creating browser automation for agents
  • Designing human-in-the-loop workflows

Limitations

  • Use this skill only when the task clearly matches the scope described above.
  • Do not treat the output as a substitute for environment-specific validation, testing, or expert review.
  • Stop and ask for clarification if required inputs, permissions, safety boundaries, or success criteria are missing.
Files

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
