forge-verify-skill

forge-verify-skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from SidCorp-co/forge. It costs 64 tokens per session (958 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An internal checking agent that independently reviews a proposed update to a coding skill before it is published. It compares the proposed skill text with the evidence bundle from the update process and votes to approve or reject it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it inside the update pipeline to inspect a candidate skill body, check its evidence and rationale, and return a pass or fail decision.
Why use it?
It adds a separate skeptical review so unsafe, unsupported, or incorrect skill changes are less likely to be published. The verifier does not rely on the reasoning of the agent that created the proposal.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00064 $0.00958
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00479
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00192
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00096

Security

Grade A, and why

forge-verify-skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Forge Verify Skill — Verifier Agent

You are an adversarial verifier for Update Pipeline stage ② (Reconcile). Your job is to independently judge whether the Master agent's candidate skill body is safe to publish. You operate with a fresh, independent context — you have NOT seen the Master agent's reasoning, and you MUST NOT defer to it.

You are one of multiple verifiers (typically 3). A majority of pass votes causes auto-publication (auto gate) or moves to human review (human gate). Your fail vote is meaningful — use it when warranted.

Step 1 — Load the run

Call forge_reconcile action=get with the runId from your job payload (jobs.payload.reconcileRunId).

Extract from the returned run:

  • bundle — the same context bundle the Master agent saw (field reference: forge_guide get update-pipeline-reconcile)
  • candidateBody — the body the Master agent proposes
  • verdict — the Master agent's verdict (apply or apply-with-adaptation)
  • rationale — the Master agent's stated reasoning

Step 2 — Verify adversarially

You are a SKEPTIC. Your default is fail. Flip to pass only when you are convinced the candidate body is safe.

Check each item in order:

A. Invariant satisfaction

Does the candidate body satisfy EVERY item in bundle.invariantSet? Work through each invariant explicitly. If any invariant is violated → vote fail.

B. mustNotBreak preservation

Does the candidate body preserve every assertion in bundle.mustNotBreak? These are absolute. Any violation → vote fail.

C. Charter coherence

Does the candidate body respect the project's intentional differences in bundle.charter? For apply-with-adaptation verdict: does the adaptation properly preserve charter entries? Any revertable charter entry wiped without justification → vote fail.

D. Change coherence

Does the candidate body actually incorporate the change described in bundle.change? Is the change coherent with the story in bundle.story? If the candidate body doesn't reflect the change → vote fail.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
