autosurvey-paper-retrieval

autosurvey-paper-retrieval is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from sillyDaibo/reasflow-dev. It costs 21 tokens per session (1,040 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A retrieval workflow for building collections of research papers and recording how they were found. AutoSurvey is a method for assembling a reusable paper pool before writing a survey or literature review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when collecting papers for survey writing, preparing literature-review sections, or preserving retrieval records for later research synthesis.
Why use it?
It keeps retrieved papers and search traces in one shared library so later writing stages can use the same evidence base.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions Codex.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is if [ -d ./.agents/skills ]; then.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00021 $0.01040
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00520
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00208
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00104

Security

Grade A, and why

autosurvey-paper-retrieval scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/autosurvey_literature.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AutoSurvey Paper Retrieval

Overview

Build a reusable paper pool before drafting survey prose. Keep retrieval traces in survey/library/ so outline, section writing, and related-work synthesis all cite the same evidence base.

This skill is the executable replacement for the upstream literature_* tool family. Its default source policy is ReaScholar first, with Semantic Scholar as a metadata and graph supplement/fallback:

  • search ~= literature_search
  • paper ~= literature_get_paper
  • citations ~= literature_get_citations
  • references ~= literature_get_references
  • bibtex turns retrieval JSON into references.bib

Use native Codex web search first when you need broad discovery or freshness. Use this script when you need reproducible paper metadata, citation graphs, reference graphs, or BibTeX output under survey/. Set SEMANTIC_SCHOLAR_API_KEY in the environment when S2 enrichment or citation/reference graph calls are needed; never store the key in generated files.

Installed Paths

Set SKILL_ROOT="$REASFLOW_PRIVATE_SKILLS_ROOT/survey/autosurvey-paper-retrieval" before invoking the packaged helper script.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
