sinch-mailgun-inspect

sinch-mailgun-inspect is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from sinch/sinch-plugins. It costs 46 tokens per session (3,141 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of sinch-mailgun-inspect, Apache-2.0.

An email quality-checking skill that uses Mailgun Inspect, a service for testing email HTML before it is sent. It can check accessibility, links, images, code, and previews in different email clients.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review raw email HTML, check lists of URLs or image links, analyze email code, and preview how an email may look in supported clients.
Why use it?
It helps find broken links, missing or invalid images, accessibility issues, and display problems before recipients see the message.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.03141
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.01571
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00628
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00314

Security

Grade A, and why

sinch-mailgun-inspect scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Mailgun Inspect

Overview

Mailgun Inspect (by Sinch) is an email pre-send quality control API. Five capabilities:

Capability Base Path Input
Accessibility /v1/inspect/accessibility html + encoded
Link Validation /v1/inspect/links links URL array (or /html-validate for HTML)
Image Validation /v1/inspect/images links URL array (or /html-validate / /upload)
Code Analysis /v1/inspect/analyze html (no encoded field)
Email Previews /v1/preview/tests (V1) / /v2/preview/tests (V2) varies

(Summary only — confirm exact names/encoding/enums against the authoritative API Reference (Markdown) doc before implementing.)

For full endpoint tables and request schemas, see references/api-endpoints.md.

Agent Instructions

Before generating code, gather from the user (skip any item already specified in the prompt or context):

  1. Scope — broad QC (run all four HTML-based tests in parallel) or a specific capability (e.g. "check links" → run only that one)?
  2. Input method — raw HTML, a list of URLs, or an image file? Route to the correct endpoint per the capability table.
  3. Region — US or EU? Must match the user's Mailgun account.
  4. Language — any language, or curl. This API is REST-only; there is no SDK wrapper.

Product gotchas to apply unconditionally:

  • Always poll — test-creation POST endpoints are typically async; poll GET until status is "Complete" or "Completed"; treat "Failed" as terminal error.
  • V2 preview shortcutPOST /v2/preview/tests can trigger accessibility, link validation, image validation, and code analysis in a single call by adding content-checking fields to the body. Use this when the user wants previews + quality checks together.

Refer to the API references linked in Links for request/response schemas.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
