repogrammar-domain

A set of project instructions for the core RepoGrammar model and its code-pattern mining pipeline. It covers how evidence, uncertainty, compatibility, and source history should be represented.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing parsers, semantic facts, pattern-family classification, provenance, freshness checks, compatibility logic, evidence handling, or mining algorithms.
Why use it?
It prevents guesses from being treated as facts and preserves competing, exceptional, or unknown results when classifying code patterns.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00030 $0.00394
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00197
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00079
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00039

Measured 2d ago against content hash 465c589de0b0, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

repogrammar-domain scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Purpose

Preserve RepoGrammar's conservative pattern-family methodology.

Trigger conditions

Use when editing src/rust/core/, parser-to-IR conversion, semantic facts, family classification, evidence handling, provenance, freshness, compatibility, or mining algorithms.

Required reading

  • docs/specifications/product.md
  • docs/specifications/domain-model.md
  • docs/specifications/indexing-pipeline.md
  • docs/decisions/ADR-0003-pattern-family-model.md

Preconditions

  • The change must not turn heuristics into certainty.
  • The change must preserve source evidence and UNKNOWN outcomes.
  • Tree-sitter facts are structural and candidate-generating, not final semantic proof.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Identify the domain claim being changed.
  2. Define evidence required for the claim.
  3. Preserve DOMINANT_PATTERN, VARIATION, EXCEPTION, and UNKNOWN.
  4. Distinguish structural, semantic, framework-heuristic, conflicting, and unknown facts.
  5. Add compatibility and freshness considerations where relevant.
  6. Add tests for uncertain, low-confidence, or competing-family behavior.
  7. Update the domain specification.

Required verification

Run the Rust quality gates and repository guard.

Documentation updates

Update domain model, indexing pipeline, product spec, roadmap, or ADRs when the methodology changes.

Commit requirements

Keep domain type changes, tests, and spec updates atomic.

Completion report

Report any remaining UNKNOWN cases and unsupported assumptions.

Failure and rollback handling

If evidence is insufficient, abstain. Do not claim dominance from one example or from weak similarity. Do not use Tree-sitter-only evidence to prove semantic family membership.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

repogrammar-domain is a skill published in the GitHub repository SioYooo/RepoGrammar (0 stars, last pushed 20d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 30 tokens to every session and 394 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
