american-freelancer-israel-tax

american-freelancer-israel-tax is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from skills-il/tax-and-finance. It costs 189 tokens per session (3,130 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning worksheet for US citizens or other Americans working independently in Israel as an osek patur or osek murshe, which are Israeli self-employed business classifications. It estimates US self-employment tax in addition to Israeli social-security payments from supplied net earnings.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for preliminary yearly tax projections and personal planning based on your earnings. It does not verify your residency, business classification, records, or Israeli tax position.
Why use it?
It helps estimate a possible US tax bill that may still apply even when work is performed in Israel. It is not tax advice, a filed return, or a substitute for checking the result with a qualified professional.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00189 $0.03130
Opus 5 $0.00095 $0.01565
Sonnet 5 $0.00038 $0.00626
Haiku 4.5 $0.00019 $0.00313

Security

Grade A, and why

american-freelancer-israel-tax scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/se_tax_projection.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

American Freelancer in Israel

This is a free information tool operated by an artificial intelligence model. It applies published rates and thresholds to figures you supply and produces a projection. It does all of this without the involvement, review, or approval of a licensed tax adviser, accountant, or attorney.

It is not tax advice, it is not a filed return, and it is not a professional opinion. What it produces is a preliminary worksheet for your own planning. It does not examine your books, does not verify your residency or business classification, does not model your Israeli tax position, does not decide whether any structure suits you, and does not recommend incorporating or not incorporating.

An AI model can err, omit data, or present a wrong conclusion. Any text it produces is an automatic draft for personal organisation only and must never be submitted to any authority as it stands.

Responsibility for reporting and for paying tax is yours, the binding assessment is made by the tax authority concerned, whether the Israeli Tax Authority or the IRS, and representation before a tax authority is reserved to those permitted to do so by law. This tool is not a substitute for advice that takes into account the particular data and needs of each person. Rates and thresholds change every year, so verify each one against the primary sources under Reference Links before relying on it.

Problem

An American freelancing in Israel pays Bituach Leumi like everyone else, and then discovers a second social tax bill from a country they may not have lived in for years. The United States has social security agreements with thirty countries that stop exactly this double charge, and Israel is not one of them. Worse, the relief most Americans abroad rely on, the foreign earned income exclusion, does not touch self-employment tax at all. So a freelancer can owe zero US income tax and still owe thousands of dollars of US self-employment tax, usually finding out when a penalty notice arrives.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
