us-israel-dual-tax-navigator

us-israel-dual-tax-navigator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from skills-il/tax-and-finance. It costs 195 tokens per session (4,470 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A preliminary checklist for US-Israel dual citizens showing which tax forms may apply in both countries during a tax year.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to map possible US Form 1040, FBAR, and Form 8938 requirements, compare the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion with the Foreign Tax Credit, and prepare questions for a professional.
Why use it?
It helps organize cross-border filing obligations and documents when the two tax systems use different forms, thresholds, and calendars.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00195 $0.04470
Opus 5 $0.00097 $0.02235
Sonnet 5 $0.00039 $0.00894
Haiku 4.5 $0.00019 $0.00447

Security

Grade A, and why

us-israel-dual-tax-navigator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/filing_map.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

US-Israel Dual Filing Navigator

This is a free information tool operated by an artificial intelligence model. It applies published filing thresholds and deadlines to figures you supply, and produces a map of which forms appear to be triggered plus a checklist of documents to gather. It does all of this without the involvement, review, or approval of a licensed tax adviser, accountant, or attorney.

It is not tax advice, it is not a filed return, and it is not a professional opinion. What it produces is a preliminary worksheet for your own organisation, nothing more. It does not examine your documents, does not verify your residency or domicile status, does not consider your full financial picture, does not decide any election between reliefs, and does not judge whether any past failure to file was willful. Each of those is a professional step that this tool does not perform.

An AI model can err, omit data, or present a wrong conclusion. Any text it produces is an automatic draft for personal organisation only and must never be submitted to any authority as it stands.

Responsibility for reporting and for paying tax is yours, the binding assessment is made by the tax authority concerned, whether the Israeli Tax Authority or the IRS, and representation before a tax authority is reserved to those permitted to do so by law. This tool is not a substitute for advice that takes into account the particular data and needs of each person. Figures and thresholds change, so verify every one against the primary sources under Reference Links before relying on it.

Problem

A US citizen who moves to Israel keeps their US filing obligation for life, and almost nobody is told this on the way in. The result is a population of olim who file perfectly correct Israeli returns while a separate US obligation quietly accumulates, along with an FBAR duty that attaches at a level most households cross without noticing. The two systems have different deadlines, different currencies, and a choice between two forms of relief that cannot both be used on the same income, where picking the wrong one can be locked in for five years.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
