build-quick-design-calculator

build-quick-design-calculator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from skyciv/skyciv-ai-skills. It costs 233 tokens per session (5,795 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for building SkyCiv Quick Design calculators from a bundle of configuration, calculation, interface, and documentation files. SkyCiv hosts the resulting calculator and can provide reports and PDF exports.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to author or debug a calculator pack containing files such as config.json, calculate.js, ui.js, and docs.md.
Why use it?
It explains how the input form, server-side calculations, user interface, and documentation fit together when creating a calculator.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00233 $0.05795
Opus 5.5 $0.00093 $0.02318
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00047 $0.01159
Haiku 4.5 $0.00023 $0.00579

Security

Grade A, and why

build-quick-design-calculator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 24d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (assets/example-project/calculate.js, assets/example-project/ui.js, assets/project-template/calculate.js, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Build a Quick Design Calculator

SkyCiv Quick Design turns a small bundle of files — a calc pack — into a hosted calculation tool. SkyCiv generates the UI from your config.json, runs calculate.js on its servers, and handles reporting, units, PDF export, batch runs and (optionally) Structural 3D integration.

Prerequisite / boundary: this skill is for authoring a calculator. The pack is uploaded as a folder at platform.skyciv.com/quick-design?uid=build (Build Your Own Calculator → Upload Code). No API key, session or { auth, options, functions } envelope is involved — skyciv-api-v3 does not apply. To call an already-published calculator by UID over REST, use run-quick-design.

Calc pack layout

Path Purpose
config.json Required. Metadata + every input variable; the UI form is generated from it. A minimal pack is just this plus calculate.js.
calculate.js Required. Server-side logic: takes the input JSON, writes the report, returns { report, results }.
ui.js Client-side; draws into the canvas/div elements declared in the config.
docs.md Documentation tab — overview, assumptions, changelog.
s3d_integration.js Puts the calculator in Structural 3D, batch-running over model members.
renderer.js Adds a SkyCiv 3D Renderer panel.
utils/*.js Shared modules via requireUtil('name.js'). Must use module.exports.
json/*.json, csv/*.csv Lookup data via requireJSON() / requireCSV().
images/* Served from the pack; reference as /name.png.
metric/ or imperial/ Manual dual-unit packs only — see Units.
test_files/Test N/ Builder regression tests: input.json + expected_return.json.
unit_tests/**/*.test.js Local Jest tests over utils/; not uploaded.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
