chainlink-confidential-ai-attester-skill

chainlink-confidential-ai-attester-skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills. It costs 281 tokens per session (861 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A service for sending private documents to a language model running inside a protected AWS environment, then receiving a result with cryptographic proof that it ran there. The original documents are not stored or exposed.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to analyse bank statements or other private documents for demonstrations such as checking loan applications in decentralised finance. You can submit files through its API and receive the result immediately or through a callback.
Why use it?
It lets you analyse sensitive files without handing the raw documents to an ordinary application server. The proof helps verify where and how the analysis was performed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00281 $0.00861
Opus 5 $0.00140 $0.00430
Sonnet 5 $0.00056 $0.00172
Haiku 4.5 $0.00028 $0.00086

Security

Grade A, and why

chainlink-confidential-ai-attester-skill scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 64 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Runs LLM inference inside Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). Documents go in, LLM analysis comes out — the raw documents are never stored or exposed.

Playground UI: https://confidential-ai-dev-preview.cldev.cloud/playground — easiest way to try it. Everything there maps 1:1 to the API calls below.

Workflow 1 — Submit: POST /v1/inference

Auth: Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY — always use an env var, never hardcode.

Request shape:

{
  "model": "gemma4",
  "system_prompt": "",
  "prompt": "...",
  "resources": [{ "filename": "doc.pdf", "content_type": "application/pdf", "content_base64": "<base64>" }],
  "cre_callback": { "url": "https://..." }
}
  • cre_callback is optional — omit it and poll instead.
  • Models: gemma4 (images/general, default), qwen3.6 (long text).
  • Prefer PNG over PDF for demos — PDF preprocessing can take up to 5 minutes.

Response: 202 Accepted{ "id": "...", "status": "queued" } — save the id.

For full request/response spec, error codes, resource types → references/api-reference.md

Workflow 2 — Poll: GET /v1/inference/{id}

Poll every 2–5 s until status is completed or failed.

Key fields on completion: output (LLM text), usage, completed_at.

Writing Prompts That Work

Always enforce JSON output with two layers:

  1. System prompt — keep the default unless you have a specific reason to change it.
  2. User prompt — binary question + exact JSON schema to return

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

chainlink-confidential-ai-attester-skill is a skill published in the GitHub repository smartcontractkit/chainlink-agent-skills (126 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 281 tokens to every session and 861 once invoked, about $0.0014 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls).
