smithers: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/smithers-integrations/SKILL.md

smithers-integrations is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from smithersai/smithers. It costs 22 tokens per session (236 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Integration guidance for Smithers provider clients, outgoing actions, incoming webhooks, and delivery retries. A webhook is a request sent by another service to notify your application of an event.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing provider APIs, outbound calls, webhook verification and dispatch, retry handling, idempotency, or long-message delivery.
Why use it?
It addresses ambiguous outgoing results, duplicate incoming notifications, request limits, and partial message delivery so external side effects are not repeated or falsely reported.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00022 $0.00236
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00094
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00047
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

smithers-integrations scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Smithers integrations

Read the integrations README and the provider's tests before changing a client, action, or webhook. Outbound write calls may have acted even when a 5xx or connection loss hides the answer: report outcomeUnknown rather than retrying an ambiguous write. Clients never retry: they classify a failure (retryable, retryAfterMillis) and the flow engine's retryPolicy around the step is the only retry; a step maps errors with Core.ActionFailure.fromIntegrationError. Durable provider actions are irreversible flow actions; preserve the journal receipt and do not claim a remote side effect is atomically rolled back.

For inbound webhooks, the receiver caps body size before Channels.ingest; the channel then verifies, decodes, maps, and dispatches. Put a provider delivery identity in RawInbound.idempotencyKey or redelivery has no replay protection. Test duplicate deliveries and an ambiguous outbound response.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

smithers-integrations is a skill published in the GitHub repository smithersai/smithers (439 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 22 tokens to every session and 236 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-25.
