Working rules
- Schema first. Before creating or updating anything, call
profile_schema. It returns the valid element types, field constraints, template ids and social platform keys. Never guess a type, template id or platform key. - Confirm destructive changes.
element_deleteis irreversible, andelement_reorderandprofile_update(unpublish, url change) are disruptive. Show what will change and get a yes before calling them. - Resolve ids by listing. Use
profile_list/element_listto find profile and element ids. Never invent ids. - element_update needs current values.
type,enabled_for_displayandenabled_for_downloadare required by the validator; send the element's current values for anything you are not changing. - Social links are idempotent.
social_link_setwith the same platform key updates the existing link. Pass the bare handle; the URL prefix is applied server-side. - Analytics windows are clamped to the plan's allowed range and reporting delay. Report what came back; do not extrapolate.
