context-view

context-view is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Snowflake-Labs/cocoplus. It costs 32 tokens per session (418 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command for displaying a CocoContext standards file, which stores an organisation’s agreed rules and policies for development work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to browse the available standards files or open one specific file, such as a policy for approved models or data handling.
Why use it?
It lets developers check the current standards before making decisions or changing project files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00418
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00209
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00084
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00042

Security

Grade A, and why

context-view scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Your objective is to display a CocoContext organizational standards file.

Pre-flight Check

Check that .cocoplus/ exists. If not: Output: "CocoPlus not initialized in this directory. Run $pod init to begin." Then stop.

Resolve Target File

If a file name argument was provided (e.g., $context view approved-models or $context view approved-models.md):

  • Normalize: strip .md suffix if present, then append .md
  • Read .cocoplus/context/<file-name>.md
  • If not found: output error listing available files (same as $context list output), then stop

If no argument was provided:

  • Run $context list output first (show the status table)
  • Prompt: "Which context file would you like to view? Enter the name (e.g., approved-models):"
  • Wait for response, then read the selected file

Display File

Read the file and display its full content. After the content, output:

──────────────────────────────────────
File: .cocoplus/context/<category>.md
Lines: <N> | Last modified: <date>
Run `$context add` to update this file.

Anti-Rationalization

Shortcut / Temptation Why It Fails
Skip showing line count and date These are key metadata for context governance — developers need to know how stale a file is

Exit Criteria

  • File content displayed in full
  • Line count and last-modified date shown
  • If file not found, available files listed with actionable next step
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
