Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00093 | $0.00791 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00037 | $0.00316 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00019 | $0.00158 |

Grade B, and why
macos-smb-server scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation
A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.
Sharepoints use the `sharing` tool directly, effective immediately: `sudo sharing -r <name>` How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 60 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
macOS SMB server (com.apple.smb.server)
Validated on macOS 26 (Darwin 25.6), Mac mini M2, 2026-08. Two facts drive everything here:
- Virtual shares: beyond the explicit sharepoints, smbd automatically offers every mounted
volume to admin users ("Macintosh HD", external drives) and each authenticating user's own home
folder. They never appear in System Settings or
sharing -l, so they can't be removed there. - Commit, don't write: smbd never reads
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.smb.server.plistoff disk. Adefaults writethere is invisible until reboot. Changes apply only when committed through the SCPreferences API, whose commit fires thecom.apple.smb.preferenceslaunchd event that runs/usr/libexec/smb-sync-preferences.
1 — Classify what clients see
sharing -l lists the explicit sharepoints and their per-share guest flags. Anything a client
sees beyond that list is a virtual share. Done when every share visible from a client is
classified as sharepoint or virtual — the two are fixed by different mechanisms.
2 — Change settings
Sharepoints use the sharing tool directly, effective immediately: sudo sharing -r <name>
removes one, sudo sharing -e <name> -g 000 turns off its guest access, -a <path> adds one.
Server-level keys go through an SCPreferences commit, then a restart:
sudo swift scripts/smb-prefs.swift VirtualAdminShares=false VirtualHomeShares=false AllowGuestAccess=false
sudo launchctl kickstart -k system/com.apple.smbd
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
VirtualAdminShares |
every mounted volume offered to admin users |
VirtualHomeShares |
each user's home folder offered to that user |
AllowGuestAccess |
global guest switch (per-share guest flags still apply) |
NetBIOSName, ServerDescription |
identity shown to the network |
Values: Key=true|false|delete|<string>. Revert is the same commit with true. Without Swift
(no CLT), sudo defaults write on the plist plus a reboot also applies — the sync helper is
RunAtLoad. For keys beyond this table, ground truth is strings /usr/sbin/smbd and
strings /usr/libexec/smb-sync-preferences.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

macos-smb-server is a skill published in the GitHub repository soulmachine/skills (3 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 93 tokens to every session and 791 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-05.
