report-building

report-building is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from specter119/skills. It costs 62 tokens per session (471 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A writing guide for creating organised reports, research papers, theses, and technical documentation. It covers planning the structure, developing the argument, and reviewing the result.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan and write long-form documents in Markdown or Typst, including reports, papers, proposals, case studies, and technical documentation.
Why use it?
It helps turn a large amount of information into a clear document with a logical structure instead of an unplanned draft.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00062 $0.00471
Opus 5 $0.00031 $0.00235
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00094
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00047

Measured 5d ago against content hash b6332c0cbc0c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

report-building scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Report Building

Handles long-form structured writing; does not handle presentation structure design or pure Typst implementation.

USE FOR

  • Long-form writing: reports, papers, technical documentation, business proposals, case studies
  • Tasks that require establishing a logical framework first, then developing the argument

DO NOT USE FOR

  • Short messages or summary-level copy
  • Slide or presentation structure design
  • Pure Typst implementation issues

Execution Skeleton

  1. Clarify the writing goal, audience, and purpose; select a matching framework from framework-selection.
  2. Design the outline per workflow; mark core arguments, key evidence, and action items.
  3. Write content section by section, continuously self-checking with MECE, So What, and data-backed principles.
  4. When needed, delegate via oracle-delegation to review the outline and draft from a reader's perspective.
  5. Hand off to the Typst implementation skill for formal typesetting or export.

Reference Map

Output Contract

  • Default output is a clear report skeleton, argument chain, and body text suited to the target medium
  • If entering the typesetting phase, hand off to the implementation skill

Collaboration and Handoff

  • When facts or data are needed, call a research skill first
  • When also building presentation content, hand off to a presentation structure design skill
Files

What ships with it

7 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
