my-pi-sqlite

my-pi-sqlite is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from spences10/my-pi. It costs 24 tokens per session (347 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A procedure for inspecting and changing SQLite databases through a configured MCP server. SQLite is a database stored in a file, and MCP is a tool connection that lets an agent use external services.

In plain words
What is it for?
Opening SQLite files, listing tables, running read-only queries, exporting schemas, and making controlled writes when authorized.
Why use it?
It encourages checking a database's structure before querying it and using backups and transactions before approved changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00024 $0.00347
Opus 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00139
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

my-pi-sqlite scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

SQLite workflow

This skill does not install an MCP server, open databases automatically, or authorize writes. Keep the user's server configuration and permissions.

  1. Discover actual tool names with codemode searchTools("SQLite"), describeNamespace(namespace), and describeTool(name), or tool search.
  2. Use open_database for existing files. Use create_database only when creating a database is explicitly intended.
  3. Inspect with database_info, list_tables, describe_table, or export_schema before constructing queries.
  4. Use execute_read_query for SELECT, PRAGMA, and EXPLAIN. Keep limits small, avoid selecting credential columns, and bound model-visible output.
  5. Before authorized writes or schema changes, prefer backup_database and an explicit transaction. Use execute_write_query or execute_schema_query only when the intent and affected data are clear.
  6. Commit only on success; roll back failed transactions. Close databases with close_database when finished.
  7. In codemode inspect MCP isError results before continuing.

Prefer MCP over raw sqlite3 or one-off Python SQL scripts. Use a shell fallback only when MCP is unavailable or the user explicitly requests it, and retain the same backup, transaction, and approval precautions. Never bypass MCP safety gates merely to make destructive SQL easier.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

my-pi-sqlite is a skill published in the GitHub repository spences10/my-pi (138 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 24 tokens to every session and 347 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-02.
