israeli-cloud-cost-comparator

israeli-cloud-cost-comparator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from squadcodercom/squadcoder. It costs 232 tokens per session (8,174 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for comparing cloud hosting prices for Israeli startups and developers. Cloud hosting means renting computing, storage, and related services from providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to estimate and compare costs for websites, APIs, databases, data pipelines, machine-learning workloads, and other hosted applications in Israeli regions.
Why use it?
It helps compare providers using the actual workload, location, compliance needs, budget, growth plans, and available credits. This reduces the risk of choosing a price that looks low but does not fit the project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00232 $0.08174
Opus 5 $0.00116 $0.04087
Sonnet 5 $0.00046 $0.01635
Haiku 4.5 $0.00023 $0.00817

Security

Grade A, and why

israeli-cloud-cost-comparator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Israeli Cloud Cost Comparator

Instructions

Step 1: Understand the User's Cloud Requirements

Gather the following information before comparing costs:

  1. Workload type: Web application, API backend, data pipeline, ML training, static site, database
  2. Scale: Expected traffic (requests/month), data storage (GB/TB), compute needs (vCPU/RAM)
  3. Compliance requirements: Does the data need to stay in Israel? Are there regulatory requirements (Privacy Protection Authority, GDPR for EU users)?
  4. Budget: Monthly budget in NIS or USD, preference for pay-as-you-go vs. committed use
  5. Technical stack: Language/framework, database type, containerized or serverless preference
  6. Growth trajectory: Startup (scaling fast), SMB (steady), or enterprise (predictable)
  7. Existing credits and promotions: Ask explicitly whether the user has active credits, free-tier benefits, or promotional balances with ANY provider (AWS Free Tier, GCP $300 trial, Azure $200, AWS Activate, GCP for Startups, Founders Hub, GitHub Student Pack, hackathon credits, VC/accelerator partner credits). Existing credits can flip the comparison and must be factored in.

Step 2: Compare AWS Israel Region (il-central-1)

AWS launched the Israel (Tel Aviv) region il-central-1 in August 2023. Key details:

Available services in il-central-1:

  • EC2 (compute), EBS (block storage), S3 (object storage)
  • RDS (managed databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora)
  • Lambda (serverless), ECS/EKS (containers)
  • ElastiCache (Redis/Memcached), DynamoDB
  • CloudFront (CDN with Tel Aviv edge), Route 53

Pricing benchmarks (il-central-1 vs. eu-west-1 Ireland):

  • EC2 instances are typically 5-15% more expensive than eu-west-1
  • S3 storage is roughly equivalent
  • Data transfer out is the same pricing globally
  • RDS instances carry a similar 5-15% premium

When to use il-central-1:

  • Data residency requirements mandate Israeli hosting
  • Latency-sensitive applications serving Israeli users (1-3ms local vs. 40-60ms to eu-west-1)
  • Financial services, healthcare, or government applications
  • Compliance with Israeli Privacy Protection Authority regulations

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
