finance-research-agent: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/company-dossier/SKILL.md

company-dossier is a skill for Claude Code from sreenathvemula/finance-research-agent. It costs 141 tokens per session (2,018 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A structured research report for one company listed on India's NSE or BSE stock exchanges. It examines the business, finances, earnings quality, governance, industry conditions, and valuation using named analysis methods.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to investigate an Indian-equity company, compare its competitive position, assess financial and governance risks, and organize valuation evidence without giving a personalised buy-or-sell instruction.
Why use it?
It brings company evidence and several financial checks into one decision-support document instead of leaving the research scattered.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00141 $0.02018
Opus 5 $0.00071 $0.01009
Sonnet 5 $0.00028 $0.00404
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00202

Security

Grade A, and why

company-dossier scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Company dossier

A complete, evidence-based deep dive on one company that puts the user in a position to decide. This is decision-support: you rank, score and lay out evidence — you never issue a personalised buy/sell instruction or a fabricated price target as fact.

Consult the investing-principles skill for the quality checklist, the named quantitative scores (DuPont, Piotroski F, Altman Z'', Sloan accrual, Graham Number), valuation discipline, red-flag list and behavioural cautions — this dossier is where you apply all of it, not just the qualitative checklist. A dossier that skips the quantitative scores is a summary, not a dossier.

Procedure

  1. Resolve & frame. If given a name, call resolve_company for the symbol. Establish the anchor period from financial_statements(quarterly_results) latest column — state it. Note company type (bank/NBFC vs non-financial) since it changes which checks below apply.

  2. Business & moatbusiness_profile (what it does, revenue mix by product/geo/segment, operating KPIs, market share) + competitive_position (peer benchmarking, market-share trend). Apply a VRIO read on any claimed advantage (brand, distribution, cost position, licence/regulatory moat): is it Valuable, Rare, hard to Imitate, and is the Organisation actually capturing it in margins/returns — a "strength" that fails Imitability (any competitor could replicate it in 2-3 years) is weaker than one claimed. For raw-material/ customer/competitor colour not in local data, supply_chain then WebSearch (credible domains only). Classify the industry cyclical / seasonal / secular (investing-principles point 14) — this frames how to read every growth/margin number in steps 3 onward — and note government/policy exposure: disclosed government-contract/PSU-customer share, licence or subsidy/PLI dependency, and any policy currently under review (point 13; stay sourced, never speculate about undisclosed political ties).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
