research-interview-synthesis

research-interview-synthesis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Stijnman/grok-custom-skills. It costs 43 tokens per session (443 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research tool that combines several user interviews into themes, findings, limitations, and next steps. User interviews are conversations used to learn about people’s needs and experiences.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to analyze customer or usability interviews, preserve source references, compare recurring and unusual views, and connect recommendations to evidence.
Why use it?
It separates what participants actually said from the team’s interpretation, reducing unsupported conclusions from a small sample.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.00443
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00221
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

research-interview-synthesis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Research Interview Synthesis

Purpose

Turn multiple user-research conversations into a traceable synthesis that distinguishes what participants said from the team’s interpretation and recommendations.

Workflow

  1. Confirm the research question, participant count, recruitment context, and available materials.
  2. Remove or replace direct identifiers unless they are essential and authorized for the requested audience.
  3. Code observations by topic while preserving participant IDs and source references.
  4. Identify recurring patterns, notable exceptions, and areas of disagreement; do not treat frequency as proof of importance.
  5. Draft insights that state the evidence, interpretation, confidence, and limitations separately.
  6. Propose research or product actions that tie back to specific findings.
  7. Deliver a research overview, themes, representative attributed excerpts, insights, recommendations, and limitations.

Evidence rules

Use verbatim quotations only when they are present in the source and safe to share. Do not fabricate quotes, merge comments into a false quotation, or infer prevalence from a small convenience sample. Label tentative findings clearly.

Output format

For each theme, include: evidence, interpretation, confidence, representative participant IDs, and implication. End with open questions and the recommended next research step.

Error handling

Situation Response
Fewer than three research conversations Produce an exploratory summary, not a pattern claim.
Notes are incomplete Separate direct evidence from inference and list the missing data.
Sensitive personal data is present Redact or generalize it before preparing a shareable report.
Stakeholders request certainty not supported by data State the limitation and propose a validation method.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
