docs-sync

docs-sync is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from strikersam/autonomous-ai-agency. It costs 28 tokens per session (710 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A checklist for updating documentation after code changes. It links changes such as new endpoints, environment variables, models, dependencies, or architecture decisions to the documentation files that may need review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after changes to APIs, configuration, agent behavior, model routing, dependencies, dashboards, bots, architecture, or other documented features.
Why use it?
It helps prevent documentation from describing old behavior or missing setup requirements after the code changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00028 $0.00710
Opus 5 $0.00014 $0.00355
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00142
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00071

Security

Grade A, and why

docs-sync scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill: docs-sync

When to Use

Run this skill after any change that:

  • Adds or removes a FastAPI endpoint
  • Adds or removes an environment variable
  • Changes agent capabilities or planner/executor/verifier behaviour
  • Changes model routing logic or adds a new model
  • Adds a new dependency to requirements.txt
  • Modifies the admin dashboard or Telegram bot

Docs to Check After Each Change Type

Change Docs to update
New endpoint README.md, docs/configuration-reference.md
New env var README.md, docs/configuration-reference.md, .env.example
New model or routing change docs/model-routing.md, router/AGENTS.md
New agent capability docs/features.md, agent/AGENTS.md
Admin dashboard change docs/admin-dashboard.md
Telegram bot change docs/telegram-bot.md
Architecture change docs/architecture/overview.md, relevant ADR
New ADR decision docs/adrs/ — write a new ADR
New dependency docs/configuration-reference.md if setup-relevant
Breaking change docs/changelog.md ### Changed or ### Removed

Instructions

  1. Identify which doc files need updating (use the table above).
  2. Read the current doc file content.
  3. Make the minimal accurate update.
  4. Use clear present-tense language ("The proxy exposes..." not "The proxy will expose...").
  5. Verify all code snippets and example commands still work after your changes.
  6. Update AGENTS.md (root or module-level) if the operating instructions changed.

AGENTS.md Update Rules

Root AGENTS.md changes when:

  • Key commands change
  • New risky modules are introduced
  • Skill-to-situation mapping changes
  • Codebase structure changes significantly

Module AGENTS.md changes when:

  • Module invariants change
  • New env vars are introduced
  • Security surface changes

ADR Guidelines

Write a new ADR in docs/adrs/ when:

  • A significant architecture decision is made
  • A new technology or pattern is adopted
  • An existing approach is replaced with something different

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

docs-sync is a skill published in the GitHub repository strikersam/autonomous-ai-agency (8 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 28 tokens to every session and 710 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
