Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|

| Opus 5 | $0.00016 | $0.00277 |

Grade A, and why
media3-android-auto-media-surface scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
Trigger
Use for Android Auto media playback, car-compatible browse trees, transport controls, or Media3 session/service integration for car surfaces.
Rules
- Start with
media3-background-playback-service; Auto depends on a correct session/service boundary. - Pin Media3 to
1.10.1through the version catalog. - Prefer Media3 session and controller APIs; avoid legacy session compat unless the host app already requires it.
- Expose browsable media, stable IDs, metadata, artwork, and transport actions through the media session layer.
- Respect Auto UX restrictions: no custom phone-style playback screen, unsafe gestures, or dense interaction.
- Keep auth, entitlement, and network failures visible through safe playback/browser state.
- Verify current Android Auto media app requirements before release.
Example
media3-session = { module = "androidx.media3:media3-session", version.ref = "media3" }
<service
android:name=".playback.PlaybackService"
android:exported="true"
android:foregroundServiceType="mediaPlayback">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="androidx.media3.session.MediaSessionService" />
<action android:name="android.media.browse.MediaBrowserService" />
</intent-filter>
</service>
<meta-data
android:name="com.google.android.gms.car.application"
android:resource="@xml/automotive_app_desc" />
The intent-filter actions let Auto discover and bind the service for both Media3 and legacy browser clients. The automotive_app_desc meta-data (an XML resource declaring <uses name="media"/>) marks the app as an Auto media app; without it Auto will not surface the app.
Do Not
- Do not build a custom in-car UI as if Auto were a tablet.
- Do not let Activity lifecycle own car playback.
- Do not expose unstable media IDs in the browse tree.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

media3-android-auto-media-surface is a skill published in the GitHub repository sunnat629/android-media-pack (13 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 553 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
