tesla

tesla is a skill for Claude Code from supervised-nl/tesla-fleet-mcp. It costs 72 tokens per session (435 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Tesla connection and routing setup for an agent. Tesla Fleet and Tessie access tokens remain on the host while requests go through one configured server.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps connect to Tesla, read vehicles, battery, charging, location, and nearby chargers, and route lock, climate, charging, and wake requests to the appropriate tools.
Why use it?
It gives Tesla-related requests a defined path and separates read-only status checks from commands that change the vehicle. It also sets rules for protecting secrets and asking for confirmation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00072 $0.00435
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00217
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00087
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00044

Measured 6d ago against content hash 56a835fe165c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

tesla scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Tesla

Connect through this plugin's MCP server tesla (Streamable HTTP). Tesla Fleet and Tessie tokens stay on the host. The plugin only has TESLA_MCP_URL (public HTTPS /mcp) and TESLA_MCP_TOKEN (HTTP gate).

Connect

  1. Settings → Tools & MCP → connect tesla.
  2. Set TESLA_MCP_URL and TESLA_MCP_TOKEN when the plugin asks. The token must match the host TESLA_MCP_TOKEN.
  3. Confirm a single server named tesla is connected.
  4. Do not add a second Tesla MCP server.

Routing

Need Skill Tools
List, battery, range, location, charge state tesla-status vehicles_list, vehicle_get, vehicle_data, nearby_chargers
Lock, climate, charge, wake tesla-command door_lock, door_unlock, climate_start, climate_stop, set_temps, charge_start, charge_stop, set_charge_limit, wake_up

Safety

  • Never print VIN, refresh tokens, client secrets, or TESLA_MCP_TOKEN in chat.
  • Prefer vehicle_get before vehicle_data. Do not poll vehicle_data.
  • Do not call wake_up for a status question unless the user asked to wake the car.
  • Writes (lock/climate/charge/wake) only after explicit user confirmation.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
