timing-cli: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/inject-standards/SKILL.md

inject-standards is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from sussdorff/timing-cli. It costs 46 tokens per session (1,656 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for loading coding standards into the current working context, combining project-specific rules with user-wide rules. Standards are written instructions about required patterns, style, or compliance.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when starting implementation, preparing a subagent prompt, checking applicable patterns, or loading standards by name, file pattern, context, or output mode.
Why use it?
It helps work and delegated tasks follow the relevant repository conventions instead of relying on generic habits.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents; installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is sussdorff/timing-cli's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on timing-cli itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything timing-cli configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00046 $0.01656
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00662
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00331
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00166

Security

Grade A, and why

inject-standards scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (runner.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Inject Standards

Load relevant Library standards into the current context. Resolve project-local standards first, then user-global standards, and merge duplicates by standard key with project-local files taking precedence.

When to Use

  • Starting implementation work and relevant coding standards should be loaded.
  • Preparing a subagent prompt that must follow project patterns.
  • Checking which standards apply to a task or file type.
  • Loading specific standard documents by name or glob pattern.

Usage

# Auto-suggest from the current conversation.
inject-standards

# Explicit standard key.
inject-standards python-cli-patterns
inject-standards python/style

# Multiple keys.
inject-standards workflow/code-review release/changelog

# Glob patterns.
inject-standards python/*
inject-standards */test*

# Explicit context.
inject-standards --context="migration test compliance"
inject-standards --files="src/billing/*.py"

# Output mode.
inject-standards --mode=paths workflow/code-review
inject-standards --mode=refs python/style
inject-standards --mode=full release/changelog

Standard Discovery

Scan these roots in order (first wins):

  1. Tracked project source of truth: docs/standards/ — versioned and copied into every worktree, so a dispatched agent can read it even though .agents/ is gitignored per repo.
  2. Project-local scratch: .agents/standards/ (gitignored)
  3. Library marketplace source layout: standards/
  4. User-global: ~/.agents/standards/

Delivery guarantee (--require)

With no standards-injector hook, the orchestrator must prove a requires_standards standard actually reached the worktree before dispatching an agent that cites it. Pass --require <id1,id2>: if any id resolves in none of the roots above, the runner prints the missing ids and the probed roots to stderr and exits 3 — it never silently dispatches against a missing standard.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

inject-standards is a skill published in the GitHub repository sussdorff/timing-cli (1 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 46 tokens to every session and 1,656 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-24.
