.codex/skills/premiere-reference-only-media/SKILL.md

premiere-reference-only-media is a skill for Codex from sylphiette269/premiere-mcp-editor-cn. It costs 39 tokens per session (403 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Premiere workflow that edits directly from the user's original media files without copying them into project or staging folders.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scan a source folder, create a file list, organize media, and import it into Premiere by reference.
Why use it?
It prevents duplicate video files from filling the workspace and keeps the source paths unchanged.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00403
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00201
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00081
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00040

Security

Grade A, and why

premiere-reference-only-media scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Premiere Reference-Only Media

Overview

This skill keeps source media in place. The workflow should scan the user folder, build a manifest from original paths, and import into Premiere by reference only.

When to Use

  • The user provides a dedicated source folder for assets
  • Previous runs duplicated media into project folders or staging directories
  • AI needs to organize assets before editing without bloating the workspace
  • A high-level editing workflow needs explicit no-copy guardrails

Required Loop

  1. Scan the source folder and produce a manifest or plan from original absolute paths.
  2. Mark the media policy as reference-only.
  3. Import into Premiere using original file references.
  4. Return metadata that states copied: false or copyOperations: 0.

Guardrails

  • Do not copy, duplicate, stage, or relocate source media unless the user explicitly asks for that.
  • Do not replace original paths with project-local clones just to make planning easier.
  • Prefer folder manifests and path metadata over ad hoc shell copy steps.
  • If a tool cannot honor reference-only, fail explicitly instead of silently copying.
  • Treat generated verification exports such as premiere-fade-verify-*, fade_check/, _premiere_out/fade_check/, and temporary frame-* review images as disposable artifacts, not source media.
  • Do not import generated verification exports into Premiere as project items.
  • After verification, clean generated verification artifacts before closing the task.

Common Mistakes

  • Creating a second asset folder inside the project just for organization
  • Hiding copy behavior behind a helper script
  • Returning success without stating whether media was copied
  • Letting prompts say “organize assets” without clarifying “by reference only”
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
