ai-agents-workspace-starter: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/add-endpoint/SKILL.md

add-endpoint is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from systemowiec/ai-agents-workspace-starter. It costs 45 tokens per session (533 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A step-by-step guide for adding a REST API endpoint in a FastAPI application. It covers the data model, business logic, database connection, request and response formats, and tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding an endpoint that reads or changes data through HTTP. It helps create the domain model, service, database repository, validation schemas, and tests.
Why use it?
It gives each part of the endpoint a defined place, reducing guesswork and keeping the codebase consistent. It also helps avoid mixing database code with business rules.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is systemowiec/ai-agents-workspace-starter's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on ai-agents-workspace-starter itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ai-agents-workspace-starter configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.00533
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00267
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00107
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00053

Security

Grade A, and why

add-endpoint scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Skill: Add REST Endpoint

Full procedure for adding a new REST endpoint. Hexagonal Architecture (domain -> application -> adapters -> interface).

1. Domain Entity (backend/app/domain/entities.py)

  • Pure @dataclass (or Pydantic BaseModel) - zero framework dependencies
  • Fields: id: int | None, typed attributes, created_at: datetime | None

2. Domain Port (backend/app/domain/ports.py)

  • ABC class with @abstractmethod async methods: get_by_id, save, list_active
  • Return domain entities, not ORM models

3. Application Service (backend/app/application/{name}_service.py)

  • Constructor accepts repository port via DI
  • One public method per use case
  • Raises custom exceptions (NotFoundError, ValidationError)
  • Returns Pydantic response schema (via model_validate)

4. Pydantic Schemas (backend/app/schemas/{name}.py)

  • *Create / *Update for requests, *Response for responses
  • Response schema: model_config = {"from_attributes": True}

5. SQLAlchemy Adapter (backend/app/infrastructure/adapters/db/)

  • models.py - ORM model with to_entity() / from_entity() methods
  • repositories.py - implements port, accepts AsyncSession, uses flush() not commit()

6. FastAPI Router (backend/app/interfaces/api/{name}.py)

  • Thin: one service method call per endpoint
  • Depends() for service + auth injection
  • Explicit response_model and status_code (201 for POST, 204 for DELETE)

7. Alembic Migration

make db-migrate msg="add {table} table"
make db-upgrade

8. Tests

make test

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

add-endpoint is a skill published in the GitHub repository systemowiec/ai-agents-workspace-starter (2 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 45 tokens to every session and 533 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
