swift-architecture

swift-architecture is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from TalissonVitorino/kmp-ios-skills. It costs 203 tokens per session (5,017 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to reading photos, selecting media, and capturing images with Apple's iOS frameworks. It covers photo-library pickers, library access, and custom camera capture for things such as documents, receipts, and profile photos.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add receipt uploads, identity-document capture, avatar selection, or custom camera screens to an iPhone or iPad app.
Why use it?
It explains which system API to use and how permissions and privacy requirements affect photo and camera features.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00203 $0.05017
Opus 5 $0.00102 $0.02508
Sonnet 5 $0.00041 $0.01003
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00502

Security

Grade A, and why

swift-architecture scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Swift App Architecture (iOS / macOS)

Pick the smallest architecture a feature actually needs, and keep state ownership, module boundaries, and test seams explicit. Grounded in Apple's SwiftUI + Observation frameworks; TCA specifics from pointfree's swift-composable-architecture.

  • KMP counterpart: mvi-architecture — if the domain/state lives in shared Kotlin (commonMain), the iOS layer is a thin view over a shared store; don't rebuild the reducer in Swift.
  • State mechanics: swiftui-observation (@Observable, @State, @Environment, @Bindable tracking rules). This skill is about structure; that one is about the machinery.
  • Test seams / DI: swift-protocol-di-testing. Navigation: navigation. Concurrency in models: swift-concurrency.

Contents

Decision table

Feature shape Use
View maps almost 1:1 to model state; light logic MV with @Observable
Non-trivial presentation logic, formatting, validation you want to unit-test off-view MVVM (one @Observable model per screen)
Complex event flow, many interdependent actions, you want time-travel/replayable state MVI (hand-rolled) or TCA
Large team, deep feature composition, exhaustive testing, shared conventions across many screens TCA
Domain shared with Android Domain in KMP (mvi-architecture); iOS = MV/MVVM shell
Business rules must outlive UI framework churn Clean layering (use cases + repo protocols) — orthogonal to the UI pattern above
Flow/routing logic tangled into views Add a Coordinator; keep the screen pattern as-is

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

swift-architecture is a skill published in the GitHub repository TalissonVitorino/kmp-ios-skills (12 stars, last pushed 17d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 203 tokens to every session and 5,017 once invoked, about $0.0010 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
