matimo: Skill for Claude Code

.github/skills/bruno-testing/SKILL.md

bruno-testing is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from tallclub/matimo. It costs 34 tokens per session (4,240 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An API testing workflow for Bruno, a tool that stores and runs collections of HTTP requests. It lets coding agents find collections, run requests or full suites, and inspect results across environments.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to run Bruno collections in development or CI, test the same API against multiple environments, debug individual requests, and create collections from OpenAPI specifications.
Why use it?
It removes the need to run API checks and compare their results by hand. It also helps agents validate an API from an OpenAPI description or investigate a failed request.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

This is tallclub/matimo's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on matimo itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything matimo configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is → Creates ./collections/Generated\ API\ Tests/ with all endpoints.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.04240
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.01696
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00848
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00424

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 10705c58de14, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

bruno-testing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Bruno Testing via Matimo — Autonomous API Validation

This skill teaches AI agents how to use Matimo's Bruno tools to build autonomous API testing workflows. Agents leverage this to discover collections, execute tests across environments, parse results, and make intelligent decisions about test status.

Part 1: The 7 Bruno Tools (Overview)

All 7 tools either wrap the Bruno CLI or programmatically manage collections. Agents call them via matimo.execute().

Tool Type Purpose Agent Use Case
bruno_list_collections CLI Discover all collections in workspace Agent finds available test suites
bruno_get_collection_info CLI Introspect collection structure Agent validates structure before execution
bruno_run_collection CLI Execute collection with environments/data Agent runs full test suite in CI/CD
bruno_run_request CLI Execute single request for debugging Agent debugs failed test interactively
bruno_import_openapi CLI Bootstrap collection from OpenAPI spec Agent auto-generates tests from spec
bruno_create_collection CLI Create new collection scaffold Agent initializes collection programmatically
bruno_add_request Programmatic Add HTTP request to collection Agent builds collections step-by-step

Part 2: Tool Tiers & When to Use

Tier 1: Essential (Always Available)

These 4 tools enable autonomous execution workflows:

  • bruno_list_collections — Discovery
  • bruno_get_collection_info — Validation
  • bruno_run_collection — Execution
  • bruno_run_request — Debugging

Tier 2: Scalable (Bootstrapping)

These tools enable self-directed collection creation:

  • bruno_import_openapi — Auto-generate from API spec
  • bruno_create_collection — New project initialization

Tier 3: Advanced (Collection Building)

This tool enables step-by-step collection construction:

  • bruno_add_request — Add individual requests programmatically

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

bruno-testing is a skill published in the GitHub repository tallclub/matimo (18 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 4,240 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-05.
