Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00050 | $0.01190 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.00476 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00238 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00119 |
Grade A, and why
matimo-tool-generator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 77 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Working on Matimo with Matimo's MCP Tools
This skill is for coding agents changing this repository (adding tools, skills or provider packages) while connected to Matimo's MCP server — usually the Python example server, python/examples/mcp/src/server_http.py, at http://localhost:3101/mcp. Setup: docs/mcp/SETUP_GUIDE.md.
Two kinds of tool, two workflows
| You are adding… | Write it as | Check it with |
|---|---|---|
| A tool or skill in this repo (a provider package, a core tool) | Files in the package directory, reviewed in a pull request | matimo_validate_tool, matimo_validate_skill, pnpm validate-tools, tests |
| A tool an agent needs at runtime, in a user's deployment | matimo_create_tool → a draft in ./matimo-tools/<name>/ |
matimo_approve_tool by a human, then matimo_reload_tools |
Never use matimo_create_tool for the repo. It forces status: draft and requires_approval: true, and a draft runs only for the admin role.
The MCP tools you will use
| Tool | Input | Output | Asks the user? |
|---|---|---|---|
matimo_validate_tool |
yaml_content |
{ valid, schemaErrors, policyViolations, riskLevel } |
No |
matimo_validate_skill |
name, skills_dir |
validation report | No |
matimo_list_skills, matimo_get_skill, matimo_search_skills |
name / query |
skill metadata or content | No |
matimo_search_tools, matimo_get_tool |
query / name |
loaded tools, a tool's YAML | No |
search, read |
query, directory / filePath |
matching files / file content | Yes |
edit |
filePath, operation, content |
result | Yes |
execute |
command |
stdout, stderr, exit code | Yes |
matimo_reload_tools |
— | { loaded, removed, revalidated, rejected } |
Yes |
"Asks the user" means the tool declares requires_approval: true; the server asks the person in the MCP client (an elicitation prompt) before it runs. Say what you are about to do before calling one. If the user declines, do not retry the same call.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

matimo-tool-generator is a skill published in the GitHub repository tallclub/matimo (18 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 50 tokens to every session and 1,190 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-05.
