notion

notion is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from tallclub/matimo. It costs 23 tokens per session (1,151 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for managing Notion, a workspace for pages and databases, through tools for creating, reading, updating, and querying content.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create pages and databases, add database entries, read or update page content, query records with filters and sorting, and change database schemas.
Why use it?
It explains how to work with both ordinary pages and structured database records. This helps avoid handling Notion content manually or guessing the required page and database structure.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.01151
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00575
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00230
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00115

Measured 8d ago against content hash 7cc211cd7e40, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

notion scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Notion

Complete guide to using Matimo's Notion tools for managing pages, databases, and content.

All Available Tools

Tool Purpose Category
notion-create-page Create a new page or database entry Pages
notion-get-page Retrieve page content and properties Pages
notion-update-page Update page properties or archive Pages
notion-query-database Query a database with filters and sorts Databases
notion-create-database Create a new database Databases
notion-get-database Get database schema and metadata Databases
notion-update-database Update database title, description, or schema Databases

Authentication

Requires NOTION_API_KEY (internal integration token). The integration must be connected to the workspace and shared with relevant pages/databases.

Pages

Creating Pages

Use notion-create-page with:

  • parent — either { "database_id": "..." } (add row to database) or { "page_id": "..." } (create sub-page)
  • properties — property values matching the parent database schema
  • children — optional array of block content

Adding a row to a database:

{
  "parent": { "database_id": "abc123" },
  "properties": {
    "Name": { "title": [{ "text": { "content": "New Item" } }] },
    "Status": { "select": { "name": "In Progress" } }
  }
}

Getting Pages

Use notion-get-page with page_id. Returns all properties. For rich content (blocks), you'll see the page structure.

Updating Pages

Use notion-update-page with page_id and the properties to change. To archive: { "archived": true }.

Databases

Querying

Use notion-query-database with database_id and optional:

  • filter — property-based conditions
  • sorts — ordering rules
  • page_size — results per page (max 100)
  • start_cursor — for pagination

Filter examples:

{
  "filter": {
    "property": "Status",
    "select": { "equals": "Done" }
  }
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

notion is a skill published in the GitHub repository tallclub/matimo (11 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 23 tokens to every session and 1,151 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
