sfcc-sfra-models

sfcc-sfra-models is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from taurgis/sfcc-dev-mcp. It costs 44 tokens per session (1,929 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to models in Salesforce B2C Commerce's Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), where models turn platform data into JSON for storefront templates.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build product, cart, and customer models, add decorators, transform JSON, and test model behavior.
Why use it?
It helps keep storefront data consistent, safe, and efficient instead of exposing platform objects directly or making unnecessary API calls.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.01929
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00964
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00386
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00193

Security

Grade A, and why

sfcc-sfra-models scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

SFRA Models Development Skill

This skill guides you through creating and extending models in Salesforce B2C Commerce SFRA.

IMPORTANT: Before developing SFRA models, consult the sfcc-performance skill for database optimization and index-friendly API usage.

Quick Checklist

[ ] Model returns pure JSON (no API objects)
[ ] Decorators mutate objects, never clone/return
[ ] Expensive properties use lazy loading or caching
[ ] Sensitive data is sanitized or excluded
[ ] Custom cartridge mirrors base structure
[ ] Unit tests cover constructor and edge cases

What Are SFRA Models?

SFRA models are a JSON transformation layer that:

  • Convert SFCC Script API objects into pure JSON
  • Apply business logic specific to the storefront
  • Structure data for optimal template rendering
  • Provide a consistent interface between controllers and views

Models are passed to templates via viewData (accessible as pdict in templates).

Model Design Principles

  1. Pure JSON Output - Return only JSON-serializable data
  2. Single Responsibility - Each model handles one domain
  3. Composability - Models should be easily combinable
  4. Performance - Minimize API calls and database queries
  5. Testability - Models should be unit-testable with mock data

Basic Model Pattern

'use strict';

/**
 * Address Model
 * @param {dw.customer.OrderAddress} addressObject - Address from API
 * @constructor
 */
function Address(addressObject) {
    if (addressObject) {
        this.address = {
            firstName: addressObject.firstName,
            lastName: addressObject.lastName,
            address1: addressObject.address1,
            city: addressObject.city,
            postalCode: addressObject.postalCode,
            stateCode: addressObject.stateCode,
            countryCode: addressObject.countryCode.value,
            phone: addressObject.phone
        };
    }
}

module.exports = Address;

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
