Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00071 | $0.00423 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00036 | $0.00211 |

Grade C, and why
tavily-cli scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

curl -fsSL https://cli.tavily.com/install.sh | bash What it actually says
Tavily CLI
Install and authenticate tvly for terminal coding agents. Capability choice (search, extract, map, crawl, research) lives in those skills. Arguments live in tvly <command> --help.
Do not use this skill on a native plugin host where Tavily MCP tools are callable.
Install
Check first:
tvly --version
If missing:
curl -fsSL https://cli.tavily.com/install.sh | bash
Alternatives: uv tool install tavily-cli or pip install tavily-cli. Then confirm tvly --version. If the sandbox blocked the install, retry with sandbox disabled or have the user run the installer in their own terminal.
Authenticate
tvly --status
tvly login
Prefer browser OAuth. Do not ask the user to paste an API key into chat. tvly login --api-key or TAVILY_API_KEY only when the user already has a key and chose that path.
After install
Every tvly search, extract, map, crawl, and research call, including research status and poll, must include --client-name "cursor plugin". Use --json for agentic output. Quote URLs. Exit codes: 0 success, 2 bad input, 3 auth, 4 API.
Return to the matching capability skill for when to search vs extract vs map vs crawl vs research.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tavily-cli is a skill published in the GitHub repository tavily-ai/tavily-cursor-plugin (2 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 71 tokens to every session and 423 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it C with 2 findings (downloads and executes remote code, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
