do-it-skill-authoring

do-it-skill-authoring is a skill for Claude Code from tdwhere123/do-it. It costs 30 tokens per session (266 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating or updating skills that coding agents can reliably recognize and follow. It covers how to describe when a skill applies and how to organize its instructions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Write skill descriptions, structure workflows, define stop conditions and checks, and revise existing skills for clearer agent use.
Why use it?
It helps prevent skills from being triggered at the wrong time or producing inconsistent results because their instructions are unclear.

Skill for Claude Code

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00266
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00133
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00053
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00027

Measured yesterday against content hash 1e7c023303ac, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

do-it-skill-authoring scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Skill Authoring

Start with the observed problem and the professional judgment the skill adds. Write a succinct description that lets the model recognize when that judgment helps. Avoid triggers that make every task load the skill.

Give the reader the distinctive questions, distinctions, examples, or tool pitfalls needed to work well. State necessary ownership, permission, and side effect boundaries precisely. Put deeper specialist material in references when it improves readability.

Let the model choose methods and sequence. Do not recreate task tiers, compulsory step chains, arbitrary worker or review counts, stop-status taxonomies, mandatory reports, anti-rationalization sections, or a fixed skill anatomy. Do not repeat Core principles in each skill or implement personalization inside a skill.

For delegation guidance, preserve independent contexts, evidence gathering, and conclusions. Separate source facts and settled decisions from parent hypotheses; name write scopes and let the parent integrate and verify.

Check that the skill's description, links, examples, and shipped copies match its actual purpose. Validate relevant behavior and build consistency, not a ritual heading structure or a target number of skills.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
