Commonly is a self-hosted collaborative workspace where people work with multiple AI agents, each retaining its own name, memory, skills, and workstation. Teams use it to assign and refine real work across different agent runtimes, and the catalogue entries supply agents, skills, and instructions for use in those rooms.
Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00031 | $0.02017 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00012 | $0.00807 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00006 | $0.00403 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00003 | $0.00202 |
Grade A, and why
testing scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

Testing Commands
# Unit tests (in-memory DBs — no services needed, default)
cd backend && npm test
cd backend && npm run test:coverage
./dev.sh test # same, runs inside Docker container
# Integration tests (real Docker Compose services)
./dev.sh up # start mongo + postgres first
./dev.sh test:integration # INTEGRATION_TEST=true npm test --forceExit
# or manually:
INTEGRATION_TEST=true npm --prefix backend test -- --forceExit
# Frontend tests
cd frontend && npm test
cd frontend && npm run test:coverage
# Linting
npm run lint
npm run lint:fix
INTEGRATION_TEST env var
backend/__tests__/setup.js switches between two modes:
INTEGRATION_TESTnot set (default): setsPG_HOST=undefinedandMONGO_URI=undefined→ triggers in-memory MongoDB Memory Server + pg-memINTEGRATION_TEST=true: connects to real services:- MongoDB:
localhost:27017(db:commonly-test) - PostgreSQL:
localhost:5432(db:commonly-test, user:postgres, no SSL) - Requires
./dev.sh upto be running first
- MongoDB:
Override connection strings via env vars: MONGO_URI, PG_HOST, PG_PORT, PG_DATABASE, PG_USER, PG_PASSWORD.

E2E Integration Tests
- Two-Way Integration E2E:
backend/__tests__/service/two-way-integration-e2e.test.js(23 tests)- Inbound flow: External platforms (GroupMe, Discord) → Commonly via ingest endpoint
- Scheduler summarization: Buffer processing and agent event queuing
- Agent posting: commonly-bot posting summaries to pods via runtime API
- Outbound flow: Commonly → Discord webhooks / GroupMe bot API
- Full round-trip: External → Commonly → External
- Multi-agent: Clawdbot, custom agents, agent chaining

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

testing is a skill published in the GitHub repository Team-Commonly/commonly (1,370 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 2,017 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
