What is axiom-database-migrations?

A set of safe practices for changing PostgreSQL database schemas managed by Prisma. PostgreSQL is a database system, and a schema migration is a controlled change to the structure of its tables and fields.

Use it when adding, backfilling, or removing database columns in Deepiri services. It guides where migrations belong, how to handle existing rows, and how to plan recovery if a deployment fails.

It reduces the risk of breaking services during deployment by requiring additive changes, separate data backfills, service ownership, and a rollback plan. It also prevents one service from changing another service's tables directly.
