techtank-site: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/vscode/SKILL.md

vscode is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from techtankto/techtank-site. It costs 33 tokens per session (130 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A small procedure for keeping a Visual Studio Code editor window pointed at the right repository folder. A repository is the project directory tracked for code changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after moving or renaming a repository so Visual Studio Code reopens it from its new path.
Why use it?
Moving or renaming the folder can leave the editor showing an old file tree and opening terminals in a directory that no longer exists.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is techtankto/techtank-site's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on techtank-site itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything techtank-site configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00130
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00052
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00026
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00013

Security

Grade A, and why

vscode scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

VS Code

Keeping the editor session honest with the repo's actual location.

  1. A move or rename invalidates the open editor window. After mv-ing or renaming this repo's directory, reopen it at the new path: code <new-path>. An editor left pointed at the old path shows a stale tree and its integrated terminal cds back into a directory that no longer exists.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

vscode is a skill published in the GitHub repository techtankto/techtank-site (5 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 130 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
