Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00087 | $0.00788 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00035 | $0.00315 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00017 | $0.00158 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00079 |
Grade A, and why
auth scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 23d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 66 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Authentication
1. Does this project need real accounts?
An immersive marketing site almost never does. A CMS's own admin login is not site auth. A gated download can be a signed link. Add auth only for genuine user accounts with per-user data — and say so when the answer is no, because auth is the single heaviest thing you can bolt onto a static-ish site.
2. Fit it to the render model
- SSR / server components / server routes — sessions in httpOnly cookies, verified server-side on every request. This is the good case.
- Islands / mostly-static — auth state cannot be prerendered. Either render the authed area dynamically or fetch state client-side after hydration and accept the flash. Decide deliberately; do not let it emerge.
- Pure SPA with no server — the browser cannot hold a secret. Use a provider with a public client flow (PKCE) and enforce every rule server-side, in the API the SPA talks to. There is no client-side authorisation, only client-side UI.
3. Non-negotiables
- Verify, don't trust. A session object read from a cookie is unverified input until the token's signature has been checked against the provider. Any API that only reads a session without validating it is a bypass — use the provider's verifying call in server code, every time.
- Middleware/edge is for routing, not authorisation. Redirecting an unauthenticated visitor is fine; deciding who may read what belongs in the data layer (row-level security) or the endpoint. Middleware can be bypassed by anything that reaches the route directly.
- Do not run code between creating the server client and refreshing the session in a middleware/hook — several SDKs document this exactly, and the symptom is users being randomly logged out.
- Return the response object the SDK gave you, unmodified, when it manages cookie refresh.
- Use the SDK's current server package; the older "auth helpers" generations are deprecated across most vendors.
- Secrets stay server-only. Public keys are public by design — the security comes from RLS and endpoint checks, not from hiding them.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

auth is a skill published in the GitHub repository textura-agency/ai-design-vault (25 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed Unlicense. It adds 87 tokens to every session and 788 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-14.
