Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00155 $0.02832
Opus 5 $0.00077 $0.01416
Sonnet 5 $0.00031 $0.00566
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00283

Security

Grade A, and why

seo-content-comparison-page scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 146 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Comparison, alternatives and segment pages

The last page a buyer reads before deciding. Someone searching "X vs Y" or "alternatives to X" has already accepted the category and is choosing a supplier, which makes these the highest-intent pages a site can own. They are also the format AI assistants reach for when asked to recommend something, because a page that compares options and concludes is directly usable as an answer, while a page that only praises itself is not.

Two rules make or break the whole category. The comparison must be verifiably true on the day it is published, and it must concede where a competitor genuinely wins. A page that wins every row is discounted by readers and by models, which destroys exactly the credibility the page exists to create.

Company knowledge first (Obsidian)

If the working environment contains an Obsidian vault or any local knowledge base (a folder of .md notes, often with a .obsidian directory), read it before writing: the real feature set, real pricing, the competitors that actually come up in sales calls, the objections buyers raise, and the segments the business already serves. Comparison pages assert facts about third parties, so unsourced invention is both a credibility and a legal risk. Log the pages produced to the vault's SEO action log, including the date each comparison was verified, since that date drives the refresh cycle. Structure and protocols: the obsidian-brain skill.

When to use

  • Planning or writing a "X vs Y", "alternatives to X", "best X for Y" or segment page.
  • Competitors, review sites or affiliates rank for "{your brand} alternatives" and you do not.
  • ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews recommend competitors on comparison prompts.
  • A product serves several distinct customer types and the site has one generic page for all of them.
  • A category page exists but never concludes, so it converts nothing.

Phase 1: decide which pages deserve to exist

Do not build one page per competitor by default. Build the pages the market actually searches, then let the rest be sections inside them.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
