glyphs-mcp-kerning

glyphs-mcp-kerning is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from thierryc/Glyphs-mcp. It costs 45 tokens per session (443 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guarded workflow for reviewing and adjusting kerning in Glyphs, a font-editing application. Kerning controls the spacing between particular letter pairs.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect affected glyph pairs, preview proposed spacing changes with a dry run, apply approved exceptions, and check what changed or still needs manual review.
Why use it?
It helps detect collisions and near-collisions while keeping font edits reviewable and requiring approval before changes are applied.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.00443
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00221
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

glyphs-mcp-kerning scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Glyphs MCP kerning

Use this skill for guarded kerning bumper workflows.

Core rules

  • Review calls remain non-mutating; confirmed apply calls remain explicitly approval-gated font edits.
  • Read current state before mutation.
  • Run review_kerning_bumper before any apply step.
  • Always run apply_kerning_bumper with dry_run=true before a mutating call.
  • Only mutate after explicit user approval and with confirm=true.
  • Never auto-save the font.

Workflow

  1. Read current state with the smallest useful set of tools:
    • get_selected_font_and_master
    • get_selected_glyphs
    • get_font_kerning or get_glyph_details only if the review needs extra context
  2. Run review_kerning_bumper and summarize:
    • affected glyphs or pairs
    • collision or near-miss findings
    • proposed adjustments
  3. If the user wants to proceed, run apply_kerning_bumper with dry_run=true.
  4. Report what would change, including changed and skipped counts if available.
  5. Only after explicit approval, run the real apply call with confirm=true.
  6. Re-read or summarize the affected state and clearly separate:
    • what changed
    • what was skipped
    • anything still needing manual review

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
