browse

browse is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ThisisYoYoDev/claude-rag. It costs 16 tokens per session (363 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A browsing command for listing projects, past coding-agent sessions, and the events recorded in them.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to list recent sessions, inspect one session by its ID, or find sessions belonging to a project. It shows details such as tools used, event types, timing, and content previews.
Why use it?
It gives you a structured way to inspect session history when you need more detail than a search preview provides.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00016 $0.00363
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00181
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00073
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00036

Security

Grade B, and why

browse scanned grade B with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

RAG Browse

Browse past sessions and events: "$ARGUMENTS"

Instructions

  1. Read the plugin config:

    cat ~/.claude/plugins/claude-rag/config.json 2>/dev/null || echo '{"connection":{"endpoint":"https://api.clauderag.io"}}'

  2. Determine what the user wants to browse:

No argument → List recent sessions

curl -s <endpoint>/api/v1/sessions?limit=10

Display as a table: | # | Session | Project | Events | Started | Show session IDs so the user can drill down.

UUID argument → Session detail

curl -s <endpoint>/api/v1/sessions/<id>

Show:

  • Session name, project, model, duration
  • Agent breakdown (main + sub-agents)
  • Event stats by type (prompts, tools, outputs)
  • Tool usage breakdown

Then:

curl -s "<endpoint>/api/v1/sessions/<id>/events?limit=20"

Show timeline of events with content previews.

Text argument → Search by project name

curl -s <endpoint>/api/v1/projects

Find matching project, then list its sessions.

  1. Always offer next actions:
    • "Use /claude-rag:browse <session-id> to see session details"
    • "Use /claude-rag:search <query> to search within results"
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

browse is a skill published in the GitHub repository ThisisYoYoDev/claude-rag (9 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 363 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 2 findings (reads agent configuration directories, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
