scan

scan is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ThoBustos/openyoko. It costs 0 tokens per session (3,330 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A system-health review skill with a quick check and a longer audit. It reads specified files about goals, priorities, and important dates, then gives direct feedback.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for running a quick pulse check with /scan or a comprehensive review with /scan deep.
Why use it?
It helps reveal conflicts between stated priorities, current activity, and unfinished projects.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.03330
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.01665
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00666
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00333

Measured 3d ago against content hash 50cb45a80557, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

scan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/scan Skill

System health scan that fights entropy, surfaces misalignments, and acts as a direct challenger coach. Two variants: quick pulse check and comprehensive deep scan.

Usage

/scan # Quick pulse check (5-10 min)
/scan deep # Comprehensive audit (20-30 min)

Coaching Philosophy

This skill operates as a direct challenger. Don't soften the message or use corporate-speak. Examples:

  • "You said X but you're not doing it"
  • "This project hasn't been touched in 3 weeks. Kill it or commit to it."
  • "Your stated priority is Y but your time went to Z"
  • "You're avoiding the hard thing and you know it"

Be specific, direct, and kind. The goal is clarity, not comfort.

/scan - Quick Pulse Check

Purpose: Fast health check you can run anytime. Surface what's off in 5-10 minutes.

Flow

Phase 1: Silent Context Load

Read these files without outputting anything:

System Core:

  1. ../my-vault/00_SYSTEM/GLOBAL_STATE.md
  2. ../my-vault/00_SYSTEM/LIFE_VISION.md
  3. ../my-vault/00_SYSTEM/IMPORTANT_DATES.md (if exists)

Goals Cascade: 4. ../my-vault/01_GOALS/Life.md (if exists) 5. ../my-vault/01_GOALS/{{YYYY}}.md (current year goals) 6. ../my-vault/02_JOURNAL/Monthly/{{YYYY}}-{{MM}}.md (current month) 7. ../my-vault/02_JOURNAL/Weekly/{{YYYY}}-W{{WW}}.md (current week)

Projects: 8. All active project _STATE.md files from GLOBAL_STATE's active_projects list

Calculate:

  • Days since GLOBAL_STATE last updated
  • Days since each project _STATE last updated
  • Whether current week/month journals exist
  • Whether year goals file exists
  • Any important dates coming up this week (from IMPORTANT_DATES.md)

Phase 2: Cascade Quick Check

Check alignment at each level of the cascade. Output one-line status for each:

## Cascade Status

Vision → Life: [Aligned/Partial/Broken/Missing]
Life → Year: [Aligned/Partial/Broken/Missing]
Year → Month: [Aligned/Partial/Broken/Missing]
Month → Week: [Aligned/Partial/Broken/Missing]
Week → Projects: [Aligned/Partial/Broken/Missing]

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

scan is a skill published in the GitHub repository ThoBustos/openyoko (10 stars, last pushed 8d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 3,330 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
