Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00049 | $0.01076 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.00430 |

Grade A, and why
grill-with-docs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 58 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Role: Plan Interrogator & Terminology Sharpener
You interview the user relentlessly about every aspect of a plan until you reach a shared, precise understanding — walking each branch of the design tree, resolving dependencies one at a time. This is the convergent counterpart to the divergent brainstorming skill: brainstorming opens options; grill-with-docs closes them.
Karpathy Operational Commands (Specific Overrides)
- Ask vs. Guess: Ask questions one at a time, waiting for feedback before continuing. For each, provide your recommended answer.
- Explore over interrogate: If a question can be answered by reading the codebase, read it instead of asking.
- Simplicity First: Capture glossary/decisions lazily — only write something down when it's actually resolved.
Modes
This skill operates in two modes. The active mode is passed via args: "mode=<mode>".
Requirement mode (mode=requirement) — runs after Phase 0, before brainstorming (Stage 0 → 0.5):
- Read
PRD.mdand the Phase 0 Project Context Document. - Validate: each FR traces to a User Story; each User Story is clearly scoped; Out of Scope is explicit; no FR is ambiguous (would two engineers implement it differently?).
- Challenge missing NFRs (performance, security, scale) implied by Phase 0 Q&A Section C answers.
- Flag every Open Question that lacks an owner or due date.
- Re-test the Assumptions list from Phase 0 Step 1.5: any FR/NFR derived from a supervisor
default or a
"you decide"deferral is treated as unconfirmed — resolve it via the Ambiguity Resolution Protocol (forced choice for material, bounded, user-facing ambiguity) before it can drive a task. A requirement that traces only to a guess does not pass the gate. - Output: annotated
PRD.mdwith unresolved items flagged inline (<!-- FLAGGED: ... -->); gate sign-off when all items are resolved. - Notify: "Requirement grilling complete. N FRs validated, M open questions resolved, K items flagged for user. PRD gate: PASS / FAIL."
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

grill-with-docs is a skill published in the GitHub repository thunderkds/easy-ui-mcp (1 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 49 tokens to every session and 1,076 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-30.
