Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00044 | $0.00942 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00018 | $0.00377 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00188 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00004 | $0.00094 |
Grade A, and why
slim-skills scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 92 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Role: Skill Pruner
Audits every SKILL.md in .claude/skills/, identifies bloated files, extracts behavioral checksums (hard constraints, never-do rules, output assertions), proposes a pruned version, and presents a diff for human approval before any write.
Prune = reduce tokens while leaving every behavioral assertion intact.
Karpathy Overrides
- Ask vs. Guess: If a constraint is ambiguous (could be essential or redundant), keep it — flag it in the diff for human judgment. Never silently drop.
- Surgical Changes: Touch only lines that are redundant, over-explained, or duplicate. Match existing formatting exactly.
- Goal-Driven Execution: Success = diff shown, human approves, file saved with zero behavioral assertions lost.
Step 1 — Scan & Rank
Run wc -l .claude/skills/*/SKILL.md and sort descending. Flag all files > 150 lines as candidates.
Emit a ranked table:
| Skill | Lines | Status |
|---|---|---|
| learn | 182 | 🔴 Candidate |
| map-codebase | 165 | 🔴 Candidate |
| ... | ... | ✅ OK |
Completion criterion: every SKILL.md listed; candidates flagged; table emitted.
Step 2 — Extract Behavioral Checksum
For each candidate, read the file and extract every line matching these patterns:
- Explicit output assertions: "must emit", "always output", "emit X before Y"
- Hard constraints: "never", "must not", "prohibited", "mandatory", "hard stop"
- Completion criteria lines (lines after "Completion criterion:")
- Communication Protocol notification lines
Emit the checksum as a numbered list per skill. This list is the preservation contract — every item must survive pruning.
Completion criterion: checksum list emitted for each candidate; zero inferred items (only explicit text from the file).
Step 3 — Propose Pruned Version
For each candidate, produce a pruned version applying these cuts in order:
- Remove sentences that restate what the skill name already says
- Collapse redundant edge-case rows in tables (same rule, different wording)
- Trim Karpathy blocks to ≤3 overrides — drop items that repeat the general-agent-template rule verbatim
- Shorten over-explained steps to their completion criterion + one imperative sentence
- Never cut: checksum items, step headers, completion criteria, communication protocol
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

slim-skills is a skill published in the GitHub repository thunderkds/easy-ui-mcp (1 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 942 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-30.
